To my knowledge this has never been done before. If it had we would have heard about it, things like this can't be kept secret. So I am confident to call this my own creation, brainchild if you will.
Before we get into the details allow me to set the scene.
It was a typical Sunday afternoon and I was painting the garden fence a lovely shade of willow green (see right). After putting the finishing touches to the gate I abandoned my tools, apparently the fairies come to clean up my mess which is great for me. I really should thank them one day, but I have never actually seen them. You see I only know of their existence because Joanne has told me, usually in a sarcastic manner, which I don't quite understand. Anyway, I then headed inside to refuel, homemade burgers were the order of the day.
I got 250g of mince from the fridge, an egg from the pantry and opened the cupboard door for salt and pepper. I froze, it felt like a lifetime has passed before I dared to think
"what if ...",
"surely I couldn't",
"is it even legal?".
A generous tablespoon later it was done. I continued to mould the mixture into patties and gently fried in a healthy portion of butter.
NOTE: I have had to rewrite this blog as my first draft from this morning mysteriously vanished. Was this the work of MI5? Interpol? Ofstead? I can't say for sure.
Would this be everything I had ever dreamed or the edible love child of Wayne Rooney and Lady Gaga? There was only one way to find out.
The second that burger hit my tongue a single tear rolled down my cheek and I knew my life would never be the same again. I can't find the words to describe how I felt at that moment, there is no adjective that would do it justice. This was simply the food of the Gods.
What was on that tablespoon I hear you ask. What one ingredient could reduce a grown man to tears?
Well I'll tell you. It was Almond butter, so simple yet so effective. So go home tonight and make the world the world a better place.
Just to recap:
250g Minced Beef
1 tbsp Almond Butter
Mix it all together, form into burgers and fry or grill.
