I made a picnic fit for a queen. Joanne is a queen, not like the nice ones in fairy stories though, more like Bloody Mary beheading those who don't agree with her, but I'm still quite fond of her, because nobody's perfect after all.
Anyway we had a feta, olive and sundried tomato thingy, which surprisingly enough just had feta, olives and sundried tomatoes chopped up and mixed together.
We also had a grilled halloumi salad with lettuce Joanne stole from someones garden (Incredible Edible's vegetable patch next to the Childrens Centre apparently, so if anybody knows Mr Edible please could you apologise and tell him it had nothing to do with me).
I just grilled the halloumi for 5 mins each side until it was browned, chopped some stolen lettuce, cucumber and orange pepper. Then made a dressing with 1 minced garlic clove, 2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt and some chopped mint leaves then just mixed it all together. Simple and scrumptious.
We washed it all down with a bottle of white wine. I wouldn't advise having the wine if you're trying to lose weight (you can find out why here), but we were celebrating offloading the kids for a weekend.
I've shared a lot of savoury recipes lately, and whilst the majority of your food should be savoury there is nothing wrong with a sweet treat once in a while. So keep your eyes open for my home made chocolate recipe next week.
